# Search

POST https://data.api.aviato.co/person/search
Content-Type: application/json

Search for people using the Aviato DSL. See the [DSL documentation](/aviato-dsl/aviato-dsl-v-1).
There is no application clause-count cap. Filter nesting is capped at
100 groups; excessive nesting returns 400. Backend query limits,
request-size limits, and runtime/resource limits can still constrain searches.
A customer may run at most 15 searches concurrently, shared across all API
keys, person GET/POST search and company search. Excess concurrency returns
429 with Retry-After. Admission failures return
503 rather than bypassing the limit. Enrichment rate limits are unchanged.

### PersonDSLCount

- `value` (string, required)

### PersonSearchResult

A person returned by person search, with a summary of their current work experience

- `firstName` (string, required) — The first name of the person
- `fullName` (string, required) — The full name of the person
- `id` (string, required) — The Aviato ID of the person
- `lastName` (string, required) — The last name of the person
- `URLs` (URLs, optional) — All URLs associated with the person.
- `currentExperienceSummary` (CurrentExperienceSummary, optional) — The person's most recently started work experience that has no end date. Omitted when the person has no current experience.
- `entityType` (enum, optional) — The type of entity the person is. This is always `"person"` for people.
  - Allowed values: `person`, `company`, `school`, `organization`
- `location` (string, optional) — The location of the person.

### CurrentExperienceSummary

A summary of a person's current work experience

- `title` (string, optional) — The title of the most recent position held in this experience
- `startDate` (datetime, optional) — When the experience started
- `endDate` (datetime, optional) — When the experience ended. Undefined for current experiences.
- `company` (CurrentExperienceCompany, optional) — Basic information about the company. Only `name` is set when the company is not in our database.

Basic information about the company of a current work experience

- `id` (string, optional) — The Aviato ID of the company
- `name` (string, optional) — The name of the company
- `URLs` (URLs, optional) — All URLs associated with the company.
- `headcount` (integer, optional) — The current number of employees at the company
